1. 1st State to meet entire energy demand from Solar:
Why in news?
Diu becomes 1st district in India to meet its entire energy demand from solar
Aim of initiating this project and its success rate:
- The announcement was made by Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy, on 29 May 2025.
- The district achieved 11.88 MW capacity (9 MW ground-mounted and 2.88 MW rooftop).

2. “Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan”:
Why in news?
Government launches “Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan”
Aim of this initiative:
- The Vikshit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan was launched by the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, at the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology campus in Bhubaneswar
Important Points:
- It is a nationwide agricultural campaign to empower around 1.3 crore farmers with knowledge and tools for the forthcoming Kharif season.
- During the Abhiyan period, a team of experts and government officials will visit farmers’ doorsteps
- The campaign is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), State Agriculture Departments, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs).
About Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan:
- Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan is conducted biannually before the Kharif and Rabi sowing seasons to provide timely field-level guidance on improving crop production, soil health, and resource management.

3. Asian Athletics Championships 2025:
Why in news?
Asian Athletics Championships 2025 concludes in Gumi, South Korea
About the event and its medal list:
- Indian athletes won 24 medals – eight gold, 10 silver and six bronze – and finished second in the medal table.
- China topped the standings.
- The 26th edition of the Asian Athletics Championships featured over 2000 athletes.
- Servin Sebastian won the first medal for India at the Gumi Asian Athletics Championships 2025 by bagging a bronze in the men’s 20km race walk event on the opening day of competition.
- Gulveer Singh won the first gold medal for India in the men’s 10000m.
- Rupal Chaudhary was the first Indian woman to finish on the podium at Gumi with a silver in the 400m.
- Gulveer Singh also won the gold medal in the men’s 5000m.

4. ‘NOMADIC ELEPHANT 2025’:
Why in news?
India-Mongolia joint military exercise ‘NOMADIC ELEPHANT 2025’ begins in Ulaanbaatar
Aim of conducting this Military exercise:
- 17th edition of exercise is scheduled to be conducted in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from 31st May to 13th June 2025.
- Exercise NOMADIC ELEPHANT is an annual event conducted alternatively in India and Mongolia.
- Last edition of the same exercise was conducted at Umroi, Meghalaya in July 2024.
