1. Operation ‘Bunyan al-Marsus’:
What is Operation ‘Bunyan al-Marsus’?
Pakistan started ‘Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos’ against India’s Operation Sindoor.
About aim of this operation:
- The name of Operation Bunyan al-Marsus has been picked from a verse in the Quran.
- It means “a firm and compact structure”
- The massive escalation comes after India hit terror camps inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) as part of Operation Sindoor after the April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attacks in which 26 civilians were killed. Songar Drones in news
- Recently, Pakistan attempted a mass Songar drones incursion at the various Indian locations under Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos
- Songar drones are armed unmanned aerial systems (UAS) developed by Turkey-based defence company Asisguard and are considered Turkey’s first indigenously developed armed drones.
2. India participates in Russia Victory:
- DayRaksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth participated in Victory Day celebrations during his visit to Russia from May 08 to 09, 2025.
- The celebrations were organised on May 09, 2025, in Moscow to commemorate 80th anniversary of the victory of Soviet People in the Second World War (1941-45).
- Victory Day commemorates the triumph of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany in 1945.

3. BrahMos super Sonic missile production unit:
Why in news?
BrahMos super Sonic missile production unit inaugurated in Lucknow, UP
About the launch of new Production unt:
- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile production unit at the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor in Lucknow on 11 May 2025.
- The facility built at a cost of Rs 300 crore is designed to manufacture 80 to 100 missiles annually.
- Developed by BrahMos Aerospace, a joint venture between India and Russia, Brahmos missiles have a range of 290 to 400 km and a top speed of Mach 2.8.

6. National Technology Day:
Why in news?
National Technology Day is celebrated on May 11th
About the day and its importance:
- On May 11 and 13, 1998, India successfully conducted a series of nuclear tests at Pokhran in Rajasthan under “Operation Shakti.”
- Following the Pokhran tests, then-Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee declared May 11 as National Technology Day to recognize the contributions of the scientists and engineers involved in the tests and to promote India’s technological achievements.
- This year’s theme is ‘YANTRA – Yugantar for Advancing New Technology, Research and Acceleration’.
