Government launches ‘Ayush Suraksha’ portal
Aim of launching Ayush Suraksha Portal:
- Union Ayush Minister Prataprao Jadhav launched a portal for real-time monitoring and coordinated action on misleading advertisements on traditional medicine and adverse drug reactions.
- It aims to strengthen consumer protection and regulatory oversight in traditional medicine
- The portal has been developed in accordance with the Supreme Court’s July 30, 2024, order.
- The Supreme Court had emphasised the need for a centralised dashboard for monitoring and publishing data related to misleading advertisements and adverse drug reactions.

Lt Gen Dinesh Singh Rana takes over as Commander-in-Chief of Andaman & Nicobar Command
About New Commander-in-chief and his Service records:
- Lt Gen Dinesh Singh Rana assumed charge as the 18th Commander-in-Chief of the Andaman & Nicobar Command (CINCAN) on June 01, 2025.
- He has succeeded Air Marshal Saju Balakrishnan.
- The Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC), based at Sri Vijaya Puram, is India’s first and only joint services operational command, integrating the Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard to safeguard national interests in the strategically vital Indian Ocean Region.

Eligibility:

International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan (29-31 May 2025)
Aim of organising International Conference on Glaciers Preservation:
- The conference was organised in association with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) and the Asian Development Bank.
- The Conference was held to highlight the danger of receding glaciers and their consequences for the world’s fresh water resources.
- Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Kirti Vardhan Singh, represented India in the conference.

7. Operation Spider’s Web:
Why in news?
Ukraine’s launches Operation Spider’s Web on Russia
About the Operation Spider’s Web in brief:
- The strike, by explosive-laden drones, was carried out on multiple air bases of Russia in which 41 Russian warplanes were hit, including one in Siberia that was some 4,000 km away from the frontlines.
- The damage caused by the assaults is being evaluated at $7 billion.
- Moscow confirmed that five of its airfields in Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur regions were targeted by Kyiv using first-person-view (FPV) drones.
- The Russian media has termed these attacks ‘Pearl Harbour’, referring to the Imperial Japanese Navy’s surprise attack on the US Fleet in Hawaii in 1941.
- That attack brought the US into the Second World War.
